Define the job first
Decide whether you need recurring maintenance, a deep clean, move-out service or help with selected rooms. Write down priority areas and anything that should not be touched. Photos can help when requesting an estimate.
Ask the practical questions
Confirm who provides supplies and equipment, whether the same cleaner usually returns, how keys or entry codes are handled and what happens if an item is damaged. Ask about pets, cancellations, arrival windows and payment timing.
Get a useful estimate
A good estimate explains what is included and what costs extra. Ask about ovens, refrigerators, interior windows, baseboards, dishes, laundry and heavy buildup. If the quote is hourly, ask for a realistic range and approval before going over it.
Prepare for the first visit
Reduce clutter enough for the cleaner to reach surfaces, secure valuables and leave clear instructions. After the first visit, give specific feedback. A respectful conversation usually works better than saving small frustrations until they become a reason to cancel.
